<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\nKatherine is an expert TV presenter specialising in antiques and vintage, modern design and historic and vintage fashion. TV and radio credits include BBC One\u2019s \u00a0`Antiques Roadshow<\/strong> and BBC2\u2019s \u00a0popular `Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’<\/strong> series. Recently, Katherine filmed for the Roadshow\u2019s sister series `Priceless Antiques Roadshow\u2019<\/strong> and sequences for `Turn Back Time: The High Street’<\/strong> all for the BBC. Added to this, Katherine is an expert voice on local radio.<\/p>\n Katherine writes for Homes & Antiques<\/strong> magazine as well as collectables features for the Sunday Times<\/strong>, Daily Mail<\/strong>, the Express<\/strong>, the Times<\/strong>, Woman & Home<\/strong> and the Daily Telegraph<\/strong>. Katherine has been an expert on the `20th<\/sup> Century Roadshow\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 the BBC show on modern collecting, she has given a flavour of 1950s life with her cooking for BBC 4’s `Thoroughly Modern Antiques\u2019<\/strong>, unveiled the history of packaging in ‘Wrappers’ (BBC2)<\/strong> \u00a0and was a reporter for both series of BBC2\u2019s `Antiques Show\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Her other TV roles have included being the collectables reporter on\u00a0three series of ITV\u2019s Schofield\u2019s Quest<\/strong> (with Philip Schofield), co-presenting the Indie award nominated, `Collectomania<\/strong>\u2019 with Matthew Kelly, a 13-part series about collecting for TLC\/Sky. She has also worked extensively for Sky News with a weekly antiques slot. Katherine anchored two 10-part series – `The Victorians’<\/strong> and `Home Ground’<\/strong> – an exploration of Britain’s domestic architecture for Channel 5.<\/p>\n Katherine is passionate about period dress, modern design and antiques, which she believes should be used. She regularly revives Post-War recipes, cooks with vintage kitchenalia and wears stylish retro fashion and costume jewellery.Katherine adores spotting connections between the past and present. “The symmetry of the 18th century nestles firmly in 1960s style”, she says. A great lateral thinker and social history detective she finds the trail that can lead from a humble family photograph quite thrilling.<\/p>\n Her first book, `Are You Rich<\/a>?<\/strong>\u2019 (published by Carlton Books) is now in its fifth edition and has just been fully revised and updated for the 21st<\/sup> century. It delves into the value and collectablity of everyday household objects from the 1950s to the 1990s. Widespread reviews agree\u2026 “If there’s one book you have to buy – it’s this.” Katherine is also author of Miller\u2019s`Collecting the 1970s\u2019<\/strong>. She was General Editor of `Miller\u2019s Collectables Prices Guide\u2019<\/strong> for their 2007 & 2008 titles.<\/p>\n Katherine has curated several acclaimed exhibitions \u2013 most recently the world\u2019s first museum exhibition devoted to British Pop Art\u00a0 titled, `Snap, Crackle & Pop: Art meets the High Street in the Swinging Sixties\u2019<\/strong> (The Lightbox Museum 2011 – sponsored by M&C Saatchi). She continues to bring antiques and vintage to life with her lively talks, lectures and narrated catwalk shows.<\/p>\n Katherine has a BA (Hons) degree in Art & Architectural history.
